WDHA Delegates Report from Annual Session 2009
The ADHA annual session 2009 was held in Washington DC. Delegates attending from Wisconsin included: Tammy Filipiak – Delegate Chair, Debbie Schumacher – Voting Delegate and Alternate Delegates Melissa Deyo and Wendy Peery.
Delegates attended the district workshop facilitated by District VII Trustee Linda Jorgenson as well as other ADHA sponsored events including candidates forum, Reference Committees and the various sessions of the House of Delegates.
Wisconsin Delegates prepared testimony on issues before the house with District VII being represented by most of this testimony. Delegates also took the opportunity to prepare testimony on various annual reports to contribute to the process of making ADHA and its programs/processes better in the future. A main issue this year considered by the HOD was new bylaws for ADHA and once they get through minutes review they will posted for all to review. States will want to mirror the ADHA bylaws were applicable to avoid any conflict or compliance issues with structure or state statutes or issues related to governance.
The Delegates also had the opportunity to network with hygienists representing many other states as well as students and others attending annual session. The social event had a “flapper” theme and Wisconsin was represented as usual with full participation in this event.
Thank you for the opportunity to serve as your delegates to annual session.
